Vanderbilt Effective Altruism is part of the global effective altruism movement which uses evidence and reason to answer one simple question: how can we use our resources to help others the most?
Rather than just doing what feels right, we use evidence and careful analysis to find the very best causes to work on.
But it’s no use answering the question unless you act on it. Effective altruism is about following through. It’s about being generous with your time and your money to do the most good you can.
What we do
Vanderbilt Effective Altruism hosts Vandy One for the World, which encourages students to commit to giving at least 1% of their income to effective charities.
We also host the Arete Fellowship, which gives students a thorough introduction into using your resources, particularly your career, to help others the most.
